I am proud to introduce the United Marine Management Ltd., - the company focusing on management of the multipurpose dry-cargo vessels and providing full range of technical and commercial management services to the fleet. Our history is dating back to 1994, when we actually started to offer the full spectrum of shipping and transit services to the customers. The Company’s current name “United Marine Management Ltd.” came in use on November the 1st , 2005 after withdrawal of ship-management activities from the former “Euro-Baltic Shipping Services Ltd.” The company’s core specialists, therefore, work together for many years and we have built up our success on their outstanding professional experience. It’s their expertise which helps us to meet the expectations of our clients in most efficient way and at the lowest possible costs.

These days the shipping industry seems to be going through it’s roughest times ever.Last year, on the gravest stage of this deplorable downturn, our shipowners even had to lay several vessels up in order to save costs. We used this, otherwise sad, occasion for maintenance and refurbishment of these ships and with freight market having finally stabilized to a certain extent, all of them were able to re-enter the trade being in better shape. During this time, in cooperation with our trusted business-partners “BLRT Group”, we have even managed to perform the full scope of modification works on mv “KATRIN”, converting this former side-loader into conventional box-shaped dry-cargo vessel with excellent Cargo/Cubic capacity ratio. The re-constructed vessel resumed trading in June 2009 and we have great hopes in her commercial possibilities.

We do believe, however, that the bottom of the market downturn has by now been reached and, hopefully, - passed. Since the beginning of September 2009 we started to feel certain signs of the market's revival, whatever uncertain and modest such signs might have been. But whatever times we are facing economically, - we must always think of the future and of our further development. This is why we were genuinely happy to accept the full management duties for yet another ship, - mv "Nemo" (ex Scotia) entrusted to UMM Ltd. by the new Owners of this vessel in July 2009.

 

All in all, we are proud of who we are and of what we are doing.

We are prepared to face the present economic challenges and to come out of the current crisis even more strengthened and better equipped for continuing to deliver the top quality services and performances at all times.
